The German word Esskultur is used to describe nutrition with regard to its cultural components. The term refers to table manners and decorations, religious aspects, and even to specific regional specialities and local ways of cooking.
It is said that a few of these aspects become less important in our fast-moving society – it seems that there is no time left for dinner preparation and a shared meal. And according to that there is either no time for reflecting about the things you eat – where is my food coming from and how it is produced?
In notes and recipes I want to reflect this aspects in various ways to emphasize and call to mind its importance. And there is a lot I want to learn about more as well. Esskultur is dedicated to things I care about – cooking, eating and other bits and pieces of everyday life. If you have any questions about this blog, please use the contact form below.
